It might only be September but we’re already thinking about Christmas here at EPT and of course the Edinburgh People’s Theatre panto auditions!
The auditions for our 67th consecutive pantomime, Aladdin, are on this week. Over the years, we have performed at the Churchill Theatre in Morningside with many performances being sold out. Being part of it is such great fun; with a huge cast and crew including dancers, a huge backstage crew, front of house staff, musicians and more.
Want to be involved?
Speaking part auditions are Tuesday and Thursday (3rd and 5th September) evening and Singing and Dancing auditions are Sunday afternoon (1st September).
Interested in taking part? Then come along!
Don’t stress about the auditions though, they’re a fairly relaxed process. You don’t have to memorise an audition piece and the director isn’t looking for a finished character. It’s all about giving it a go and enjoying yourself. Don’t let the singing and dancing put you off either, training is provided and we don’t expect Broadway standards!
You do need to be a member in order to audition but you can sign up now.
Not interested in being on the stage? We’re always on the lookout for people to help backstage as well so feel free to still come along on Tuesday (or one of our other open nights) to meet some of the gang.
